Titanium Scrap

With the fast development of science and technology, especially the development of aerospace and other industries, the increasing demand for titanium metal has greatly promoted the development of the titanium industry, but at the same time, a large amount of titanium metal scrap has also been produced. Titanium scrap (Ti Scrap) and titanium alloy scrap (Ti Alloy Scrap) have a variety of properties when it comes to useful characteristics. Both materials have proved to be highly useful with their properties of superior corrosion resistance (saltwater propeller shafts), hard but lightweight makeup and high melting temperature. Therefore, the recovery of titanium metal scrap not only has become key in many industries, but also has shown to be paramount to saving resources and reducing costs. To this end, many scrap metal recycling companies have been established to specialize in the recycling of scrap titanium and other metals.

Even though most titanium is used in its oxide form (paint, plastics, paper, etc.), sources from which titanium scrap and titanium alloy scrap are recycled are very common. The aerospace industry is a large supplier in titanium scrap and titanium alloy scrap. Titanium scrap and titanium alloy scrap is recycled from engines and structural components from airplanes, satellites and spacecraft. In the end, it also can be used for medical uses such as joint replacements, or as armor plates for a military vehicle.

Today there is a global trade in the buying and selling of high temperature scrap alloys in which Urso Trade plays an active part. The forecasts are that the volume for both buyers and sellers will continue to increase.
